Universal Clamp Mount For Cellphones, Cameras, Etc
I needed a way to secure an internet-accessible webcam to my printer for monitoring my prints when away. I found the universal bottle mount for attaching any phone/camera/similarly sized object to a bottle cap. I made a small change – I mirrored the bottom pivot to eliminate the bottle cap side and instead have two pivots. That way, there are two universal clamping ends – one for an old cellphone I had laying around (a Samsung Epic, the U.S. version of the original Galaxy S) and one for clamping to the printer (a Monoprice Maker Select - a clone of the Wanhao Duplicator i3). Assembled with a 1 1/2″ and a 4″ carriage bolt - both 1/4"-20 - on each side of the central pivot (plus 6 nuts) was perfect for my use but you could user longer or short bolts, as needed.
This is only the central pivot - the piece that I changed. You will also need 2 every file except for "Bottom_pivot.stl" from http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:631222/ (this is the one version I modified - the imperial version)
OR
2 of every file except for "Tilt_cap.stl" from the original metric version at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:33940 which uses M8 and M3 hardware. I have not tested my modified bottom pivot / tilt cap with the metric parts but it would probably work with a little modification.
