Amoeba or HoneyBadger Battery Extender

We've always had an issue finding the right size LiPo battery for my son's Amoeba. The store that sold it didn't carry the battery - you had to use the online store to get them.. we had always talked about designing our own stock for it, but PLA isnt the best material for a full stock.. Certainly nothing like the strength of the factory polymer Ares uses.

So we designed this extension. Now he can use full length LiPos, or NiMh 9.6v batteries (using NiMh is sometimes a good idea for kids, since the internal MOSFET always draws current and will kill a LiPo within a few days if you forget and leave it connected!)

The unit is designed to press fit, and you plug the stock battery box end into this piece and thread the rear pad thru. It should click into the last position with some pressure, holding everything tight.

So far, we've been thru 2 AMS events with this and never had any issues. I'd print it with 75-100% infill to add strength.

If you feel like re-doing it to make the tab-locks functional, be my guest of course - but we didn't find that necessary because it press-fits into place securely.

If you want, you can always buy me a coffee!
