PZ0420 / 600TVL Board Camera Housing

** update 10/15
Added pz0420-top-swivel-v2-no-perf.stl

This is the SMALL version of the top case but with a swivel bracket which fits the 34mm x 34mm version of the camera (when you pull off the perforated tabs).

** update 10/4
1) Reuploaded pz0420-top-no-swivel-v2-no-perf.stl (small version) to fix some spacing issues
2) Reuploaded pz0420-nose.stl increased depth and width of notch - apparently not all pz0420s are manufactured with the same lens mounts

  • added a second notch to the nose to turn it 45 degrees if that's your thing

** update 10/3
I've added 2 more STLs to this pile. I got some initial feedback and it sounds like some of you break off the perforate tabs. I've redrawn the models to fit a board that is 34mm wide by 34mm wide (it's actually closer to 33.5)

Download the models suffixed by "no-perf" if you tore the tabs off and have a smaller board. I didn't bother with holes in those because it's essentially a press fit. Nose cone doesn't change but may need a little reaming for the notch for the screw that holds the ends in place.

More models to come soon. Model with an interface arm to a servo has been requested as well.

This part was designed against the full sized board...folks have asked for a case to fit a smaller board with the perforated tabs removed. I'll pump out an alternate and post back here.

This started out as a project to design a protective housing for a very popular FPV board camera called the PZ0420 or 600TVL. The part comes in 4 pieces:

  • Front plate (both with and without swivels)
  • Back plate
  • Swivel Bracket (QAV400 only but there will be more)
  • Protective nose cone

People had asked for a way to tilt the camera upwards to compensate for the angle attack inherent in forward flight with a quadcopter, so I incorporated gopro style compression brackets. The holes are set for M3 nuts and M3x25mm pan head screws (available from Home Depot).

The screw holes are set for M2.5 x 5mm screws which are less common, but to be honest - you could tape the entire case together and that would be fine too.

Derivatives were asked for that don't include the swivels and over time I may incorporate curved edges. I'll be adding front plates for other cameras as well over time.
