Colsonbot is a 3lb weight class ("Beetleweight") combat robot that lives in an 8" caster wheel (hence the Colson name). It's a quick, maneuverable shell-spinner design with a brushless friction-drive system for the shell, that could be quite competitive if only it didn't live inside a wheel. Colsonbot is a pacifist, nonviolent combat robot. Perfect for FIRST Robotics.

Most important areas for strength is the central tower that supports the 5/8" bolt.</p></div>

            <div><p>Colsonbot uses the following parts:</p><ul><li>QTY 4: Fingertech Robotics Silver Spark 11:1</li><li>QTY 4: McMaster-Carr P/N 9600K53 rubber grommets</li><li>QTY 2: Vex Robotics 29 Motor Controller</li><li>QTY 1: Hobbyking Zippy 1000mah 3S/25C LiPoly battery</li><li>QTY 1 or 2: Hobbyking NTM PROPDRIVE 2830 motor </li><li>QTY 1 or 2: Hobbyking TURNIGY PLUS 18A brushless motor controller</li></ul><p>Use flathead #4 x 3/8" coarse-thread sheet metal screws, or Plastite/threadforming screws for plastic to assemble the covers. </p><p>To use a 8"x2" Colson Performa wheel as the spinning shell, it must be machined hollow using a lathe. A size PFR-2214 bearing, 5/8" bore, fits into the wheel center.
