Nameplate / Doorsign 8x5cm

This thing is a 8x5cm nameplate / doorplate.

The FreeCAD source file is included.

If you need help on how to create 3D Text in FreeCAD read this tutorial.

It should be easy to create a sign with not intersecting fonts.

The example file "Maison Edith" shows a font where the single letters intersect each other. This can cause problems in FeeCAD if you try boolean tools (e.g. boolean cut to create engraved text). I was not able to solve this problem. Of course you can always try to have a boolean cut for each letter (letter by letter) to circumvent this problem.

Instead I created an extruded text string, placed it on top of the plate and created a compund instead of performing a boolean join. After exporting the STL I ran the file through netfabb to generate a printable file.
