Micro Octokopter 200 mm - FPV
This is my design of a 200 mm diameter octokopter.
Video of the maiden flight can be found here: https://youtu.be/BmQR75hDSpY
The hardware setup (Flight controller, accu, camera, etc.) is similar to punkkills great quad-design of a 105 FPV Quadcopter (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1221911).
I designed the frame in FreeCAD 0.16.
I used 8.5 mm motors and the MicroScisky32 as Flight controller. The motors were connected pairwise parallel to the outputs on the Scisky. I my case the mosfets were B12N types and they are sufficient to drive two motors in parallel. Since this is still the first trial with this setup I have no experience in long term stabability with that. In case the mosfets will be burned you have to exchange them to types with higher current capability (N-Channel MOSFET in SOT-23 case like IRLML6244 should work but I haven´t tested that yet).
As top part I used the micro105-top-v2 from punkkills design. The other top parts from there work either. So feel free to use a FPV camera as well.
For building up and configuring the flightcontroller please consult punkkills instructions.
