Summary

The laser cut platform for Thimble.io's first kit, the wifi-robot.

Designed for ~3mm thick birch plywood. Other materials may work fine as well.

How I Designed This

Software

            <div><p>This was designed using <a rel="nofollow" href="http://librecad.org/cms/home.html">LibreCAD</a>, an open source 2D CAD tool .</p><p>LibreCAD had some limitations, the largest of which was a viable scripting language. Because of this, the encoders were designed using a python script that used <a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.semicomplete.com/projects/xdotool">xdotool</a> to click on the user interface, type the commands, and click through the tools.</p><p>More details on this project are available at <a rel="nofollow" href="http://learning.thimble.io">http://learning.thimble.io</a></p></div>
