Rostock Laser Mount
USE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN ATTEMPTING THIS PROJECT! IT INVOLVES HIGH-POWER LASERS THAT CAN BLIND YOU INSTANTLY, EVEN WHEN SEEN REFLECTED ON A DARK SURFACE, AS WELL AS DO SERIOUS DAMAGE TO YOU AND YOUR EQUIPMENT. DO NOT ATTEMPT IF YOU ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH WORKING WITH LASERS!
Now that the safety stuff is out of the way, here goes :)
I was originally planning to add these files directly to my Rostock extruder coupler Thing, but decided to separate them to be able to share them independently.
This part is a pair of brackets that snap on to either side of a WickedLasers Spyder 3 series laser. One bracket is smooth, the other has a hole through it to attach a bowden filament connector.
I use this in a DIY laser etching system, using the 3D movement of the machine to position the focal point of the laser, then extruding / retracting filament through the bowden tube to poke the power switch and turn the laser on and off.
