YAFQ (Yet Another Fablab Quadcopter)
This is a frame for a quadcopter built using FabLab techniques.
Legs are laser cut 10mm MDF
Body is kind of a sandwich of two 5mm plywood with a 3D printed part in between to raise total inside height of the box to 15mm.
This piece is a wall 5mm thick with supports for the legs where the M3 screws are. It also has gaps to pass the ESC power and signal cables. ESCs are kept outside for cooling.
I don't have the electronics yet, but this is v0.1 for this parts:
NTM 2830S 900Kv with 10x4.5 propeller
Turnigy AE-20 ESC
HKpilot flight board
I already have some changes in mind with the prototype in hand.
Also handling it, I predict this "box" will produce good noise, so I'm going to model just the corners of the printed piece separately. Anyway, I want first flight to be noisy, just to test.
Update 19.03.2014
Lots of tests and designing since the first prototype
Changes:
MDF arms are now from ply and redesigned fro the landing gear
Smaller body with a tower for electronics
Separator piece now splitted into 4 different pieces (Inner structure)
