Simple quarter-sphere sconce
This is a simple 2 part wall sconce that as it is implemented is used to distribute light from a ring of LEDs placed on the tray of the sconce. I wouldn't advise using a candle or even a votive on that tray as the heat would very likely damage the sphere, but one possibility is to use the sphere as a form to shape aluminum foil or the aluminum from a light duty cooking tray, and use that as a reflector, in which case a votive candle might work just fine. Well except for the soot.
I printed at .2 mm layer, 1.2 mm top and bottom as well as edges. I also rotated the 'stand' portion to print in the orientation that it would hang on the wall. As I was looking for this to be a very light item, I printed with 5% infill
You may wish to print at different sizes, or with different materials. You could put an led lamp within the quarter sphere, and print that with a natural or translucent material, try with various densities of infill to find out what works for you.
I've designed and added a led half ring to go on the tray. This will work OK with a cr2032 battery and 9 5mm leds. It is not perfect, but will work. Feel free to modify any or all of the elements to fit your own needs.
