Glutathione Transferase P1-1

This is a model of human Glutathione Transferase P1-1 (GSTP1-1). This model is somewhat special to me. It is one of the first structures I solved as a PhD student.

Glutathione transferases (aka GSTs)are detoxifying enzymes that catalyze the conjugation of reduced glutathione (GSH), a tripeptide, to xenobiotic substrates, rendering them more soluble.

The human pi-class GST, GSTP1-1, consists of two monomers (in green and red in the images). (The STL files contain surface representations of the two monomers "A" and "B".) A third STL file defines a glutathione molecule (in yellow in the images). Each monomer binds one glutathione molecule. Based on PDB entry 5GSS:
