PC Footswitch with Sustain Pedal

Full blog post with more information here.

This is a 3D-printed case and an Arduino program that allows you to use a sustain pedal for an electric piano as a keyboard hotkey for your computer.

Parts Needed:

  • 5V Arduino Pro Micro
  • Normally closed (NC) sustain pedal
  • 1/4" TS jack
  • 1 M3 bolt
  • Piece of double-sided tape
  • Wire

With this design the center bolt hole is sized for an M3 tap. It may need some persuading if you don't have a tap handy.

To use the program with F13-F24 keys you will also need a copy of the updated Arduino Keyboard library circa 577e5c9.
