Car-Phone-Cup-Holder v2

This 'thing' supersedes version 1.

V2 is superior to v1 because:

• it is simpler (less plastic), and comes as a single piece (no welding required).
• the base in v1 is too thin (2mm) - it buckled in the heat / sun inside my car. The base in v2 is 6mm-thick.
• the flanges on the base of v1 (designed to slot into the cup-holder) sometimes failed to work properly when cornering (phone + holder ended up on the floor of the car).
• the 'hooks' are further apart than v1 - mostly to clear my volume rocker, but probably provides a more secure grip on the phone (less torque when cornering).

Version 2 removes the cup-holder flanges. Instead, small slots are provided to facilitate joining to a non-printed cup-holder attachment. I felt it made sense to print the phone-holder part, but leave the cup-holder part to you.

My personal cup-holder attachment consists of a 'puck' made out of disks of corrugated cardboard. The puck is laced to the 'thing' with string. The puck fits snugly into my non-circular cup-holder, and is much more secure than v1.

Another method of attachment could be a cross-bar (e.g. chop-stick) under the cup-holder + zip-lock ties through the slots provided.

You could also probably zip-lock this 'thing' directly to you cup-holder.
