Summary

A simple silencer for an aquarium overflow pipe of 40mm diameter.

You need to drill or melt a small air admittance hole in the top, I found 2mm to be about right.

Post-Printing

Add air admitance hole in top

            <div><p>You need a hole, I used 2mm to let the air in at the top.rnrnYou need to cut the 40 mm pipe so the top of the pipe is at the required water level.rnrnrnYou can silence the bottom end of the overflow in the sump by simply putting some matting (like capilarry matting) for the water to run down rather than just dropping into the water. I have just held it on with an elastic band for now while deciding on a better way (cable tie?).rnrn</p></div>
