Wind Turbine Design Challenge Project

This is the Solidworks file presented to the 9th Grade Physics class. It is a basic turbine design with Equations built in to control many of the characteristics, including blade-angle, thickness, and width at 4 profiles, as well as the positions of those profiles, the length of the blades and number of blades.

The students' challenge is to design the best wind turbine for our 3d-printed simulation. Each of the 12 groups print their turbine, and will attach it to a DC motor simulating a generator, then put it in the wind tunnel. The winning group is who can generate the largest voltage--as measured by an Arduino/RaspberryPi setup.
