SuperEgg by Piet Hein
The SuperEgg was designed by Piet Hein as a piece of art and as a puzzling object, but the underlying mathematical shape has been known much longer. It can stand upright on a flat surface. This feature makes is an interesting puzzling object: How can this be?
If you can read German: Mehr Informationen gibt es in https://welt-der-geduldspiele.blogspot.com/search?q=3D-Druck
Printing instructions:
The STL model is for a half SuperEgg and was created using the python script by kitwallace (Chris Wallace) given here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:48808. The exponent for the superegg featuture is 2.5. The script was modified to print half SuperEggs: Two of them can be printed without support and easily be glued together. The result is a nice looking puzzling object.
I printed the puzzle in PLA at 0.1 mm layer height.
