Depth Attachment for Caliper

This is a caliper attachment for measuring depth. It includes a "bridge" component which spans the gap and a "foot" component for measuring the depth of soft materials.

I printed the body in PET-G on a Lulzbot Mini with a 0.5 mm nozzle. The body was printed in its normal orientation without support.

The bridge uses a tapping insert from McMaster-Carr:

The hole in the foot is a friction fit to the depth rod on my caliper. This is something I will need to change in a future revision, since the foot eventually becomes loose.
