Anamorphic Skull
I was inspired by some sculptures by Robert Lazzarini that I saw at the Whitney in the early 2000s. I've been obsessed with the idea ever since then. I'm new to 3D printing, so I was thrilled to finally be able to make this. This print needs to be seen in person; the photos do not do it justice.
Anamorphic- denoting or relating to a distorted projection or drawing that appears normal when viewed from a particular point.
Anamorphic skulls have appeared throughout art history. One well known example is "The Ambassadors" by Hans Holbein the Younger.
This print requires a bunch of support material, but it wasn't too hard to remove.
