It doesn't look like it is large enough to balance the remote, but due to a low center of gravity carefully placed it balances quite well.

This holder works with the remote for the original Amazon FireTV, Amazon FireTV2, and Amazon Echo remote. Does NOT work with the remote for the FireTV stick.
