ZZ 42

This is the ZZ42 fuse used by pioniers for booby traps and mines. They would be threaded into a 1kg, 3kg, shoe mine, or any other kind of explosive.

The later war versions were made of bakelite in a blackish-brown color.

These would have an immediate ignition when activated, with the pin being inserted into the bottom hole.

This would be rigged one of 2 ways for traps. The trip wire would be tied to the pin, so that it would pull out and ignite the fuse, or the fuse would be planted horizontally. The trip wire would be attached to a stake or secure object, and tied to the top hole. The pionier would then tie another wire to the pin, retreat to a secure location, and then pull the pin out of the fuse so that it would ignite when the trip wire is cut.
