Ikkegol dual pedal base redesign for big feet
I found these pedals to be a bit small and hard to press the pedal down with shoes on.
I created a new base which is more open and easier to repair if you need to replace the microswitch in future. The hinges are attached with a couple of screws each.
Additional hardware:
- 8 x 10mm (or 8mm) x 3mm socket cap screws
- 8 x 3mm brass inserts
- Hot glue
Use some hot glue to hold the main PCB in place and complete the wiring*. The brass inserts are to be inserted into the hinge pieces, screw one into place on the base, install the top original part of the pedal then align and screw in the remaining hinge. It's a little fiddly to do but shouldn't cause too much trouble.
The additional pedal has a microswitch only (no PCB), install it in place with hot glue.
Once completed, the pedals can then be attached to the original metal bracket using some hot glue.
*You can use the existing wiring or install new wiring if so desired.
NOTE: There is a high probability you will break the original base when trying to remove the top pedal piece, they aren't really meant to be disassembled. Mine were already broken.
