Teeth Zippo

Video, if you like

Thanks to Geekdad_3D and Matthew Kosmoski for their work on the case.

I did some light CAD to also add the charging port for 'Sprkr' electric arc insert, so it is compatible with both.
I also included a file with a flat bottom - to work with 'normal' inserts.

Could use it with standard wick-lighter zippo insert, with butane, with hand-warmer, or just as a carrying case for mints or eabuds or whatever you like.

Standard 1.75mm FDM filament was used for the hinge. The one pictured is printed in SLA resin, but I also printed in FDM PLA and it worked fine (was of course, just a bit lighter and less detailed, so I preferred resin).
I wonder if some very light fuzzy-skin might give a nice effect...

I am no artist, and likely most of you could do a better job with the paint. Paint it however you think is best, but just to give you and idea of how I did it (from rough memory:)

  • I just used cheap hobby acrylics (the 1$ ones you find at walmart).
  • Some base coating with ivory / reds, some light air-brushing with pink (though, if you don't have an air-brush, one could get a similar effect with wet-blending). Also, I just use a cheaper (~50$) mini-compressor airbrush from Amazon
  • Then a few washes with watered down brown acrylic, dry brushing the teeth with white, and the gums with a lighter pink
  • A glossy rattle-can spray varnish to seal it, and a touch of mod-podge super-gloss in the recesses for the drippy-wet-mouth effect.
  • I just relied on getting the colors in roughly the right places, and let the 3d textures and the finishes 'sell' the vision.

Good luck! As always, would love to see anything yall make. Thanks!
