katsu/makita 18v saw wobbly blade guard shim fix

if you bought the 7 inch katsu/fittbatt makita clone compatible circular 18 volt saw then you will notice that the guard is kinda loose and when you put the saw down or move the guard back at the wrong angle sometimes the blade can actually touch the guard!

its a big problem if you want your saw to last or keep a nice sharp blade. all you need to do it take off the blade and all the washers and bits that hold the blade on so you have the bare unit and you will see a circlip around the centre spindle area that keeps the saw guard on. you will see that there is a lot of play when you wobble the saw guard against the circlip.

once you take that ciclip off pop the shim directly underneath it where you just took it off, so it sits against the guard and then put the circlip back on the saw, it might be tighter and harder to do, but now it should now feel nice and postitive when you open and close the guard and not be wobbly anymore. go ahead and reassembled and you will have your saw back to perfect working order just like a makita one! i used petg as its kind slipperly as a plastic so goves less friction but i would think pla would be fine also.
