Printing
This model is far from perfect. Visit the github and take a look at the TODOs to get a better overview what is missing, or comment to motivate me to fix it myself. That said, it was good enough to get me a yes as an answer :D
- 2x ./shell.scad scaled by 160% in all directions! (I did not want to rerender this part as it took hours on my machine)
- 1x ./ringbridge_large.stl
- 1x ./ringcradle_large.stl (you might want to change the scad model of the ring until it fits your ring perfectly. You can print this part over and over until it is perfect and your ring does not fall out. Or just secure your ring in with white electrical/medical tape...)
Print the shell with the inner side towards the print bed with supports and hinge and cradle lying flat on the side.
I used cut off nails as the axles for the hinge, neodym magnets left over from another project and an M4 screw to mount the ring cradle.
If you print this, please post a make! I always get a kick out of seeing my designs out in the wild!
