Rux Magnetic ears With Light Passthrough

3D Printing Instructions for Ears of a Robot V3

Objective: Create a pair of magnetically-attachable, glow-in-the-dark robot ears, implementing color segmentation to enhance light reflection at the ends.

Materials Required:

3D Printer (capable of handling fine detail)
PLA filament for the outside
Magnets (for attachment)
Fast glue (to ensure a solid bond)
Cooking oil (to ease part assembly)
Hair spray (to prevent warping during printing)
Optional cleaning and polishing supplies if a pristine look is desired

Preparation:

File Preparation: Download the necessary design files from this link. Review the models for any required tweaks before printing.

Printer Setup:

Nozzle Size: 0.4mm (standard for detailed work)
Bed Temperature: 65°C for PLA
Nozzle Temperature: Approx. 210°C for PLA

For PETG (transparent)
Bed Temperature: 90°C for PETG
Nozzle Temperature: Approx. 245°C for PETG
Printing Settings:

Infill: PLA: 20%, PETG 2% (to ensure a light structure while maintaining enough strength)
Layer Height: Reduce by 2mm from standard settings to enhance delicacy without compromising structural integrity.
Adhesion: Used a skirt.
Print Speed: Adjust accordingly to maintain a balance between speed and detail accuracy.
