"SpeedCord III" Cord reel for high start rubber

For my R/C model aircraft, I often use a high take-off rubber for the first few starts. This gives the models the speed required for good control surface action right from the start. Only the unwinding and rewinding of the long high start line is a bit annoying.

That's why I designed a cord reel and created it on the 3D printer. This cord reel makes unwinding and winding the cord quick and easy. The reel is easy to print. About 100 meters of cord (Ø 2mm) and 15 meters of high start rubber with a diameter of 8 mm fit on the cord reel. This fills the reel to about 70%. The reel can be printed on any suitable 3D printer with a print area larger than 220 mm x 220 mm.

The following parts are also required:

3 x Ball Bearings 608, for 8 mm Shaft Diameter, (Ø inside 8 mm x Ø outside 22 mm x thickness 11 mm)
1 x 18-8 Stainless Steel Hex Head Screw, M8 x 1.25 mm Thread, 120 mm Long, Fully Threaded
1 x Steel Washer for M8 Screw Size, 9 mm ID, 16 mm OD
1 x Steel Hex Nut M8 x 1.25 mm Thread
1 x Phillips Screws, M4 x 0.7mm Thread, 8mm Long
18 x Steel Flat Head Thread-Forming Screws for Plastic, Phillips, Zinc-Plated, M2 Screw Size, 6 mm Long
