Summary

The wall tiles in HeroQuest are just 2-dimensional cardboard; they are difficult for me to see when they're placed on the board since they're similar colors. I had printed (on paper) some variants to make them more visible, but I thought I'd try hand at making my own 3D prints for it.

Post-Printing

Simple brush-on acrylic paint, spray can of polyurethane

            <div><p>I used some of the cheapest hobby acrylic paint available from craft stores; mixed white, black, brown, and red to different amounts to get a variety of colors and effects. I applied it with a plain bristle brush, but you could probably use anything; for some of the prints, I tried to just get the front face of the protruding bricks, leaving the underlying black filament unpainted for more contrast.</p><p>I then just sprayed on polyurethane from a spray can.</p><p>This was all cheap stuff I had just lying around already.</p></div>                <p class="detail-image"><img src="https://cdn.thingiverse.com/assets/88/67/e0/b4/ae/4ad62da1-cd01-476f-befa-3fc5bf9f5543.jpg"></p>

How I Designed This

In Tinkercad, I just duplicated a stock brick wall element to make four sides that would interlace, filled in the middle with a plain block, and hollowed out most of it. Super rudimentary as it's one of my first designs.
