IT Closet Fan Vent - Kobold

I went on a quest to figure out how I was going to cover the vent from our IT closet into our gaming space. What I turned up was thing 5601349! What a fantastic remix of this dragon head.

I printed it first at 30% scale to make sure it would work without supports. Spoilers: It didn't work. So, I supported the head at the back of the lower jaw and on each of the upper jaw teeth with tree supports to make sure they would be alright at larger scale. Then I printed them at 110%. If I'm honest the constriction for the fan is still too high at 110%, but I wasn't going to try again. I recommend you go bigger maybe 120-130%

I'm including a template to mark holes on the wall and to test the depth of the fan duct. The way I positioned everything to line up was by drilling through the wall from one side and aligning the template with the hole on the other side to get everything to line up. Again, spoilers: this will depend on how straight your drilled hole is. Mine was not very straight but it worked well enough.

I planned to add a collar around the duct on the dragon side to hold everything in place. However, I was running out of time and so I simply applied silicone calking to everything and glued it all in place.
