A Laser Cut Infinity ITS Objective Room
A Laser Cut Infinity ITS Objective Room
Since my “Table in a Box” upload was popular I’ve dug back through my old laser cutting files for anything else that can be uploaded to Thingiverse.
This is an Infinity ITS Objective Room which is a standardized piece of terrain that gets used in certain Infinity ITS Tournament Missions. It’s 8 inches to a side and has 4 Doors in the center of each wall which for the initial version of the Objective Room were all the same width. There weren't many commercially available objective rooms when they were first introduced into ITS so I designed one in Autodesk Inventor to be cut from 3mm MDF or Birch Plywood.
This was my Mk3 version of the room where I experimented with having openable doors and a layered construction which ended up making these rooms VERY sturdy, I made two from Birch Ply and had a 4 year old try to destroy one. She eventually succeeded but it took a while.
To produce the Objective room you will need:
- Access to laser cutter capable of colour quantization (colour dependent cutting power) with a cutting bed capable of cutting sheets of dimensions 600x300mm.
- 2 sheets of 3mm thick birch plywood of laser grade MDF
- Objective Room Plans 1 & 2 in form that can be read by laser cutter software.
- Wood glue, hobby knife etc.
Cutting Parameters :
Cutting line: Black Line of width 0.01mm
Etching line: Red Line of width 0.01mm
As with the Table in a Box the plans are stored in a Dropbox Folder since Thingiverse doesn’t allow for files to be in folders.
