Opened the base to allow for a switch and battery and resistor. Added a hole in the center with spots for the legs of an led. Lid for the base can be wedged in or glued, next version may have a threaded lid. Make one, they look awesome!

Instructions

Print the bases in color of your choice, obviously silver is ideal but you can paint it before wiring. The center spiral would look amazing in green or blue. (i'm working on glow in the dark filament and a uvled)
The wiring is super simple, you can complicate it if you want. And if you aren't familiar with electronics this is a fantastic place to start.
Here's the simplest version, i added a switch and resistor for maximum brightness and battery life, you can too.
Push the LED through the holes in the center of the base and pull it so its flush with the bottom.
Find the longer lead of the led (thats your positive) and bend it flat against the inside of the base with a 90 degree bend so it sticks out along the edge of the base.
Put a piece of electrical tape over the lead horizontally (so its covered on the base)
The second lead is your negative (duh) bend that so it lays flat.
Take a flat battery (i used CR2032) and place it inside the base so the positive side is facing out.
Fold your positive lead over the batter so it makes contact.
Boom! You've got light.
For the outside of the vial i took a piece of clear plastic from some packaging and wrapped it around a pipe slightly larger than the base of the vial. Then use a heat gun and let the plastic tighten up a little, take it off the pipe when it cools. Wrap it tightly around the virus spiral and press it it into the base, it'll naturally want to pop open a little which is great because it will hold it in place (you could use glue too if you want) Just trim the seam where the vial overlaps and put the other cap on.
