Stationary Tool 4" Dust Collection Port to 2 1/4" Shop Vac Hose Adapter

This adapter connects a 4” dust collection port like that on the Porter-Cable Bench-top thickness planer and a Rikon 14" Deluxe Bandsaw to a conventional 2¼” shop vac hose. To start, I grabbed Pascal32’s lockline 2-1/2" - 3" adaptor to 4" flex line (thing:4663666). Pascal32’s design includes a Fusion design file which is parametric, so I changed the diameters to match my particulars. I also moved the center of the larger diameter to be concentric with the smaller diameter. Pascal32’s design has them eccentric. I think the adapter will be higher speed if they are concentric.
I printed the part large end down without supports and on my machine, a SnapMaker A350T, it worked fine. No supports required. Planers produce high volume sawdust so this may choke a lot of smaller shop vacs. My Rigid one seems to be able to keep up. At least in the first day of testing with some cedar boards. The dust collection port on the Rikon bandsaw is a loose fit so I wrapped it with single layer of gaffer's tape. Now it fits snug. Probably unnecessary since suction makes the whole thing tight, but secure for sure this way.
After all day testing running red cedar and white oak through planer, the adapter works great. The photos are the port adapter as built, as installed on a Porter Cable planer and installed on the Rikon 14" Deluxe bandsaw (with gaffer’s tape).
