Seestar solar filter

A friend told me that a solar filter using Badder solar film did a much better job than the solar filter that came with the Seestar S50. I created one to test this and the Badder filter was clearly better. I added pictures using both so folks and judge for themselves which is better.

There were already several solar filters listed, but it was hard to get the solar film on them without wrinkles. I made on that has a wider surface, so the paper goes right on.

I also created a case that it will fit in, this is optional.

Steps:

  1. Cut solar film slightly smaller that the base
  2. put a light coat of glue on the base and press it on the solar film
  3. put a light coat of glue inside the top and press it over the solar film on the base
  4. put light weight and let it dry for a few minutes.

I used a Bambu A1 to print this using PLA. I used white for the top to reflect the Sun and keeping the PLA from getting too hot. You may want to use a material that can take the heat from the Sun better.
