Makita Miter Saw specifically fits the OEM dust collection ankle on the Makita LS1219L Compound Miter Saw.

Presumably it would fit others as well. This end fits over ankle and is held in place by friction fit. The bore is straight walled. No taper. The design is indexed to slip past the side gusset. Extending the narrow slot a further ~1/4" would bring the side port to contact with the relief, but seems unnecessary.

Design follow's manufacture's practice of employing an opposing taper- at some point those two cones will intersect- which should be more dimensionally tolerant.
