NATO 40MM Mock Gas Mask Canister

Created this for a Halloween costume. Having worn a gas mask at length for a costume, I remember how hot it got. I wanted to design a canister that a small fan would fit into and keep air flowing in the mask.

Designed as a replacement for 40mm NATO filters. The bottom part screws into the top canister. Bottom piece has a mount designed for a 60mm fan. Outside ring of the bottom is textured for grip. This was one of my first times designing with threads. The bottom turns perfectly into the top piece, but you may have to turn it slowly a couple of times when starting to screw it in until the threads catch. If anyone has a suggestion on improving this, please let me know.

The cross section looks weak in the neck joint, but unless I bang the neck onto a surface, i don't think it will break.

I printed this in Hyper PLA with a 20% infill.

Next I will replace the 40mm threads with 3M bayonet type lugs.
