Swash Level Clip
Overview
This swashplate leveling tool is compatible with all Tron helicopter models and sizes. It has been designed for easy 3D printing and comes correctly oriented for immediate use after printing. For best results, a higher temperature material (such as ABS or PETG) is recommended. PLA may warp slightly under high temperatures, particularly during outdoor use or travel when conditions are hotter.
The 10mm version works with the Tron 5.5 Gemini/Orion, Tron 5.8, and Tron 7.0 Dnamic.
The 12mm version works with the Tron 7.0 and Tron 7.0 Avance.
Step-by-Step Guide:
Step 1: Prepare the Helicopter
Place the helicopter on a stable, flat surface to avoid any movement during adjustments.
Power on the helicopter and navigate to the settings menu to ensure it is set to 0 degrees pitch. For those using the Brain flybarless system, simply connect power without the receiver, and the system will automatically enter zero-degree check mode.
Step 2: Attach the Swashplate Leveling Tool
Slide the swashplate leveling tool over the main rotor shaft, as shown in the image.
Adjust the tool so that there is a minimal gap between the tool (the part marked with "5.5") and the raised outer part of the swashplate’s ring.
The gap should be small, just enough to allow accurate measurement.
Step 3: Rotate the Main Rotor and Check the Swashplate Leveling
Slowly and evenly rotate the main rotor by hand.
As you rotate, observe the gap between the tool and the raised outer ring of the swashplate.
Goal: The gap should remain identical at all three linkage positions (120° apart).
Step 4: Adjust the Swashplate
If the gap varies at any point, the swashplate is not level.
Adjust the relevant swashplate linkage rods (connected to the cyclic servos) by increasing or decreasing their length until the gaps are even at all points.
Make small incremental adjustments to avoid over-correcting.
Step 5: Final Check
After making adjustments, rotate the main rotor again to ensure the gaps are now uniform.
If necessary, repeat the adjustments until the swashplate is level at all three points.
