Class B 18 ton Climax
HOn30 scale.
This is a remake of Madrams excellent Climax. I found some drawings of an 18 ton Climax, drawings by Richard Dunn. I cant find the link but it is on the net somewhere. It was the first locomotive on Laheys Tramway, Canungra, South East Quennsland, Australia. It went into service in 1903. Interesting history here

I had made a version of Madrams Climax and found the Atlas GP70 I based it on had a limited turning radius and couldn't make it around the tightest turn I had on my test track. I have based this version on the N scale Tomytec TM-21 which is cheap and widely available. It can make very tight turns. The bottom of the body may require opening up a little, depending on the shrinkage of the resin used.
I have split the motor and crank drive on this version and to complete the build you must find a length of approx 1mm steel to make the piston rod.
The couplings are a work in progress as I haven't settled on what type of coupling I want to use yet, the old style was just a simple pin and draw bar.
The alt couplings file gives another choice, these clip on where the Kato coupling sits. They will need supports to print. The main body prints fine without supports
