3D Braille Module - Pro Version
This is an update of my 3D Braille Module - Deluxe Version braille label generator. The Pro version is designed to be used with braille translation software and the ASCII Braille Converter on my website to quickly generate 3D braille labels.
For the Pro version, you will need to use the ASCII Braille Converter tool so that OpenSCAD will recognize all the characters correctly. Just paste your translated braille into the converter's text field and hit the "Convert Text" button. Copy the resulting text and paste it into the braille module to quickly and easily produce 3D braille labels without translating each character yourself.
Paste your text between the brackets [ ] at line 487. Once you've entered your text, you'll need to preview, render, and export the model as an .stl. For smooth braille, avoid printing braille laying flat with the dots facing up.
New improvements include:
- Supports the use of ASCII braille from braille translation software to make label generation much faster!
- All text is now entered in lower case!
- Automatic plate length! No more counting characters and manually adjusting your plate size.
- Rounded edges on braille label plate. No more sharp corners!
As before, this module contains all braille contractions, and it even includes Nemeth numbers!
I hope you enjoy the new and improved braille module!
This is a remix and expansion of the fantastic OpenSCAD braille module posted by Sean Tikkun and drayde. The characters I've added allow for complete braille transcription.
