Post-Printing

I couldn't print the body provided by ldabkey so I rebuilt it. I also removed the text from the bumper and Heavy Hammer.
I followed the assembly video provided by ldabkey
except for the following:
-For the hammer weight, I got a 1/2 inch zinc bolt, heated the plastic with a drill bit then screwed in the bolt, and used a highspeed cutoff tool and belt sander to make it flush.
-cut and drilled a brass strip for connecting the rods to the springs and used the same strip to reinforce the bits where the hammer was hitting during dry firing
-Had a wood fin to keep the bar from hitting the front tires, which the hammer obliterated

The nice thing about the sharpened screws is you can adjust them so they hint the cartridges at the same time.
The shared body stl has the corrections I made after racing, including the fin in the print and beefing up the areas I covered with brass.
Fits two 12-gram nonthreaded CO2 cartridges.

Race Day

Made this car for an adult outlaw/extreme/no-rules Pinewood Derby.
Raced on this amazing track https://rushvalleyracing.com/track/ on 11/23/24
I only had enough cartridges for 5 races.
the first two were misfires, the hammer hit as soon as I pulled the safety pin.
the third race was perfect, I stood at the back of the track pushing my car against the gate to keep it from misfiring,
Broke the track record getting to the finish line in 0.8169 seconds
4th race I was in the end lane and blew off the track throwing the wheels and bending the nails on impact
5th race wheels no longing staying on. It crashed at the end before the finish line
ran the other races under gravity power or missed the heat trying to reattach wheels and straighten my axle nails.
Car took a beating, but except for the wheels falling there was no damage.
If i were to make it again I would use an axle and not nails.
