Mannequin Hand
I had need for a female mannequin hand.
This design includes variations for Male/Female, Different mounts, and Parts for designing your own mounts. The Male hand is the same height as the female hand, but 50% wider and deeper (without re-scaling the mount)
HandFemale-with-mount.stl and HandMale-with-mount.stl have indents in the bottom for attaching a 3-screw mounting plate. They print as one piece. As such, they need some support and infill. See "Print Settings" for the minimal recommendations for printing these. Other than removing supports, there is no additional post printing steps for these prints.
In my case, I needed a 1/4 inch coupling nut for mounting. Because this was not my mannequin, I wanted the hand to be sturdy. See "Post Printing" for details on how I did that. See "HandAssembly.stl" on how the parts fit together.
NOTE: Please do not try to print "HandAssembly.stl"
Cura is a very powerful slicer that has some ability to modify models.
Using "mirror", you can easily turn a left hand into a right hand.
Using just "scaling", you can make the Female hand into a Male hand.
Scale the X and Y by 150%, and leave the Z at 100%- Using a "cutting mesh", you can create custom "mounting" for the hand.
See "How I designed this" below for details on how you can do so.
