Black & Decker Workmate Latch-Catch spring remix
I printed one of the replacement designs in PETG and it broke on the first fold.
Using Uli's design (https://www.thingiverse.com/uli/designs) I made a TPU version which will just flex and not break.
All 4 of my legs are different supports as I iterated to the current model. Note I made a "right" and "left" as I added an offset to grab the frame... tpu flexes too much for the original clip. You can always trim it with some side cutters if needed.
Thanks to Uli and so many others that clearly have put time into replicating the original parts. Mine was just applying some TPU experience to it.
Not tested in freezing temperatures... as I don't have any... ether way it won't crack like a hard plastic.
PRINTING INSTRUCTIONS
1) Print two right and two left.
2) Using 6 vertical walls with 25% fill (criss cross... if it matters). You need the verticals to stiffen the walls and the light fill to help it give.
3) I added a support to the pin... cut it off when done. No additional supports needed.
Installation
- Twisted it a little with the L shape going towards the clear side of plate on the lower plates.
- Push it into position
- Press the cylinder into the hole.
- I made the pin hole tight... it will flex open... but you may have to reposition it on the as inserting the pin... a little lubricant can be used if desired.
