Makita 2012NB planer hood

The hood Makita makes for their 2012NB planer sucks so i made my own and I made it to accept 4" hose. Supports needed for the hood but not the flange. I designed a flange on the end to give it ample contact area for base adhesion. I made a 4" flanged connector for my shop with a sweep to it. You can design whatever works for your set-up.

You will have to cut the metal cover and attach it to the hood. You'll have to dril a couple holes for that. I used a couple low head semi tubular rivets but some low truss head screws will work. Apply a small bead of caulking between the two. You'll also have to drill the two holes for the screws that hold it to the planer; for me it was easier to do that instead of incorporating them in the stl design.
