Right Angle (USB) Adapter for Brother P-Touch Cube devices
This is a right angle adapter to power my Brother PT-P300BT from the side instead of the back.
Versions
There are to and a half versions:
- 1a. one with a plug and a similar socket on the side so the original cable can be used from the side
- 1b. the same as 1a, but the internal wiring is switched, because a center-positive 9V DC power supply is way more common than the required center-negative
- 2. one with a DC boost/step-up converter (specifically a MT3608 module)

Printing and Assembly
- Slice with the big flat face on the build plate, the model is optimized to be printed without support in this orientation
- I printed on an Ender 3 v2 with 0.16mm layer height
- (optional) Sanding and painting
- Shorten the long outer leg of the DC plug and solder wires to it
- Push wires through the DC plug hole and the wire channel directly following it
- Put the plug in the designated hole and push it in; use the soldering iron (max 220° on PLA) if neccessary
- (when using variant 1a or 1b) Put the DC socket in the designated hole and push it in; use the soldering iron if neccessary
- Solder the wires according to the power supply you are going to use; make sure the outer ring of the DC plug ends up being
+and the center ends up being- - (when using variant 2) Route the wires to not get stuck when putting the boost module in; put the boost module in afterwards
- Secure the socket/boost-module in the casing first using a press fit (might need to sand down the edges of the module), then by slight plastic welding

I designed the USB version after those modules that have a large inductor (the part usually labelled with "220") with a smaller diameter (where you can see the copper wire) as opposed to the thinner, rectangular inductors.
