Hand Plane Blade Screwdriver

This thing is a custom screwdriver for the screw that binds a hand plane blade to the chip breaker. It was designed to fit any Stanley plane, but could work with other plane brands or used for other applications with large screw slots. Since this screw head and slot are rather large, using a typical size screwdriver chews up the screw slot pretty badly. This driver uses a standard flat fender washer with an outside dimension of 1.38 inches and thickness of .078 which fits the screw slot perfectly. (I think I got it at Home Depot.) You will need to grind a flat on the washer OD that is the length of the slot, about .600 long. Print two copies, insert and align the washer flat and the pins and sockets will align the halves. Use epoxy or CA glue to lock the washer and sides together. You will have to adjust the size of the washer socket if you use a different washer.
