Revised/fixed Movie Dalek model

I have remixed this model to fix the mesh a bit and changed a few tolerances. I also decided to make it larger as any smaller meant that the arms and eye-stalk were getting too small for a 0.4mm nozzle. If you want me to make any variants of this for resin printing, mesh fixes, electronics, etc. feel free to ask.

PRINT SETTINGS:

I do not recommend printing the 'DalekMain_8.8cm model, that's more for specialised printing. You want All the other files, and a bit of superglue. Please excuse my terrible alignment job in the photo...

Information partly in regards to Creality Slicer settings.

  • Layer Heights - 0.1mm for the arms/eye. 0.2mm for the body (it's a larger layer height in the picture).
  • Supports - Yes for the arms/eye, and these are a difficulty. As for the main body, my Ender 3 v3 did struggle a bit with the overhanging edges that still remain in these models but with better cooling you might have much better results.
Note: Beware of using overhang optimisation, it will create horrible lines around the small dome parts.
  • Speed - I would recommend printing the arms/eye at 100-150mm/s for a typical modern machine just to be safe.
  • Infill - 15%
  • Walls - 2
  • Other - No brims.

Original model by Paul.
My uncle, the original model uploader, sent me this just before Christmas to test print as he didn't get around to buying his own printer. Sadly he passed away at the beginning of February, 2025. I wanted to finally print this model for his relatives and do a larger version for his funeral, he would have gotten a kick out of that. He printed a few things himself at work when he could, and was otherwise a talented maker of things outside of 3D printing and a lovely person. He loved Doctor Who and was Dalek obsessed, he would have loved his model being shared and used.
