AST-5 Cockpit Canopy and Laser tips

This is a set of simple replacement parts for the Kenner Star Wars AST-5 minirig. It includes a cockpit canopy and laser tips.

If you tilt the cockpit sideways for printing, it can be printed with fewer supports. I printed the cockpit using white PLA and painted it using Revell color 85, but maybe you have a suitable tone of brown PLA. You can cut a piece of transparent plastic to fit in as a viewscreen. The canopy is not a replica of the original viewscreen since I wanted a bigger viewscreen and I did not want to create a copy of the old viewscreen.

The AST-5 I bought on Ebay had lost its lasers, so I drilled in holes to fit metal pieces in as a replacement. I liked the metal look of the replacement parts and I wanted the lasers to be longer. I include the laser tips I put on the metal rods in the downloads.

You will probably want to download the .stl files for printing. The .c4d and .scad files can be used edit the pieces, but you need Cinema4D and OpenSCAD to edit them.

You could create a remix of the canopy that includes wings, additional thrusters and/or more weapons.
