Kenner Star Wars Landspeeder Top Engine

The landspeeder I bought on Ebay came without a top engine, so I designed one in OpenSCAD to 3d print. It helps to print with supports but are they not required with my printer. I glued the new engine on the speeder and filled the gaps with glue (Stabilit Express). Glueing the engine on the model means it cannot be disassembled anymore, so you might want to use screws instead. I covered the rest of the model while painting the engine and glue with a mix of Revell colors 85 and 381.

I was able to renew the side grills with a chrome pen that they sell in model building stores.

Download the .stl file if you want to simply print the piece - the .scad file can be used to edit the piece if needed.

I don't know if this piece can be adapted as a replacement for the side engines. In that case, it would be possible to create a version that shows damage done by the Javas as seen in the movie.
