Fields Of Fire Terrain Card Grid Layout

Fields of Fire is a card based war game that uses terrain cards as its battle map. I designed this interlocking grid of terrain card holders to help keep the map and game counters more stable during play. The risers (different terrain levels, e.g. hills) can be printed in different colors to more clearly indicate the level for that terrain. The storage unit will hold 20 tiles and 12 risers. Some game scenarios have a large number of terrain cards, so you will need to determine how many you need to print. I believe 40 tiles and 24(?) risers should be enough, but printing when you need them may be the best method.

The interlocking tiles are an improvement from an earlier design of mine (namely thicker with an added card support).

Update (May 25, 2025) - Added a Staging Area component. Interlocks with itself for bigger staging area (doubled up) as well as attaching to the map grid -- will work on any side of the grid. The staging area components fit inside the riser components in the storage unit. You probably don't need to print more than 8, but I could be wrong.
