Summary

Snaps around the V2 Jerker posts and supports itself in two post holes. Curved reliefs on snap arms to allow more flex when installing or removing. I printed in eSun PLA Basic Grey. Remix of the Ikea Jerker Desk USB / SD Card holder by pbechard, whose snap arms and support pegs I emulated.

How I Designed This

I emulated the snap arm mechanism from the Ikea Jerker Desk USB / SD Card holder by pbechard. Version 1 had straight walls and snapped on very firmly. Not sure whether time would embrittle the body so I added curved reliefs to reduce stress on the arms when installing or removing. I printed test arms .125 high until I got the snap and fit to be tight and yet removeable. Placed the two nubs very low on body so that minimal support is necessary, but I still printed them with supports so they'd be clean and work securely without post processing. Filleted the top surfaces for appearance and left the bottom flat for clean first layer prints.

            <div><p>I printed multiples of this and started putting other stuff like my flush cutters, support removal tools and scrapers in them. This and the excellent SD and USB holder on which it was based allowed me to clear my workspace and make finding things easier.</p></div>
