Flip Flop Keychain (remix) - "Margaritaville at Sea" (to hide on the ship)

Remix of "Flip-Flop Sandal Keychain" by mb20music which is a remix from "Flip-flop magnets" by Tosh

I made 64 of these for our first "Margaritaville at Sea" cruise. Lots of people hide/collect ducks on cruises but MAS's "symbol" is a "blown out flip flop" so I thought it would be fun to hide these. A couple people told me that they hid a duck where they found a flip flop. So they seemed to get along well with the ducks :)
This model slightly increases the size of the flip flop keychain and adds a recessed MAS logo on the bottom and the sailing dates of our cruise on the top.

Adjustments:
I played around with recessed or raised logo & dates, sometimes together on the same side. The version I went with seemed to produce the most "readable" results at this size using "mortal" printers and a variety of ancient PLA. (I used 8-12 year old filament excavated from my office after ordering a new printer.)
I prototyped in gray 1.75 PLA by Deltamaker on a Tronxy XY-2 PRO.
I used Tinkercad to add the logo and date and initially Simplify3D to slice. (Tinkercad required the logo to be an SVG type file, STL wouldn't work.)

  • Then my new Creality K1C came! The ones found on the cruise were made with Creality Print on the K1C using mostly old Deltamaker and Polaroid filament. The white ones were made using the Creality Hyper PLA filament that came with the printer.

Settings:
Since I used a variety of filament, I adjusted some parameters depending on the results using the Prototype file. Mostly I went with
• 220ºc nozel
• 50ºc bed
• no support
• no raft

I've included 3 versions in stl and obj...
• LEFT: the original I passed out and hid on the MAS Islander cruise from March 16th to the 21st 2025
• RIGHT: on the cruise I only hid/gave away 4 "right foot" flip flop keychains (and only in gold)
• BLANK: a customizable one with the MAS logo on the bottom but no date on the top
