Master Pattern for making small leather bags
This is a simple pattern I put together so it can be printed and used as a stencil to cut leather and prepare it for stitching. You just cut two pieces, I suggest using different colors, then lay the circle on top of the long piece, stitch them along the square holes and thread a rope, cord or the like through the circular holes, alternating in and out to make the drawstring. The hole in the overhang piece that covers the opening is for the button, which you can stitch onto the bag. Only use the button hole if you plan on adding a button or a toggle. This is just a simple test bag pattern and is VERY small. If you resize it, the holes size up too, meaning you may have more play in them. If you want to do a bigger size, I would suggest NOT punching the holes within the pattern and just using the two basic shapes.
